Recently, Blaine Havens, a bright and loving 9 year old, was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and aggressive pediatric brain tumor. Blaine is the son of Garrett and Karly Havens.
In what should be a time filled with school, laughter, friends, and dreams for the future, Blaine and the Havens family are navigating hospital stays, treatments, travel expenses, and the emotional weight of this devastating diagnosis. Despite the challenges, Blaine continues to show incredible courage, strength, and a smile that inspires everyone around them.
To show this family they are not alone and help ease the financial burden, Hawley Lutheran Church is hosting a benefit for on June 7, 2026 at Hawley Lutheran Church.
Funds raised will go directly toward medical expenses, travel costs, lodging, meals, and helping the family focus on what matters most — spending precious time together and supporting Blaine through this treatment.
