Update - June 2025

On May 14 we launched our Faith Fueled Campaign! After three weeks and abundant generosity, we met our goal! We look forward to beginning our building project this summer! Keep an eye out for information on a groundbreaking this summer!

Update - May 2025

Following several open forums and meetings by our Now Is The Time Team, final design plans were accepted and sent to bid. A letter was sent to the congregation April 27, 2025, according to our bylaws, of a special meeting to be held on May 14, 2025 to vote on moving forward with the building project. Bids were received May 6, 2025 and our Now Team and council held a lengthy, prayerful meeting to assess the bids and make recommendation to our congregation.

On May 14, 2025, Hawley Lutheran Church held our special meeting to vote on the project. After robust conversation and excellent information shared by the council and steering team, the motion was made to accept the base bid with the condition of raising the minimum $300,000 in additional funds to meet the current financial requirement by June 4 and to decline all alternates presented. After discussion, a ballot vote was held. The vote passed 89 (yes) to 7 (no). Now, we move forward with our Faith-Fueled Campaign to raise the funds to move forward. Learn about that campaign here.

We wish to thank our Now Is The Time Team, our Property Team, our Vision Council and our Staff for their work on this project. The time, effort, energy, conversation and prayers are appreciated. And to the Hawley Lutheran family, thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement of this team and belief in this project for our present and future.

Update - March 2025

There has been a lot going on behind the scenes the past several months, with planning, discussion and NOW Team meetings as we move forward on our building process and Now is the time for the ball to really start rolling!

Update - December 31, 2024

As 2024 draws to a close, we want to thank our church family for a God-glorifying year.

From the first day of the year to the last, we have seen the faithfulness and goodness of God in and through our ministry.

There are countless things to celebrate. But for today, we want to share that God is faithful to our obedience and our trust in his purpose, his mission and his vision for his church.

One month ago, our Now Team came before the congregation with an above and beyond vision, and an above and beyond goal. To raise $313,000 so we can move forward with our building project in 2025.

We are humbled by the response of our church. We are reminded of the faithfulness of God when we move in trusting obedience. We are thrilled to share that not only did we meet our goal, church, we exceeded it, raising over 125% of our goal - nearly $385,000 - and we finished the year strong, laying the foundation for movement for God’s mission in 2025!

This is so much bigger than dollars and cents, and we know you believe that too. This is about Hawley Lutheran believing God is doing more than we can see, moving toward his purpose for our church, and trusting his vision and mission for our present and future. What a year, church. Give him praise for what he might do next. Are you ready?

Rise Up Team

In 2021, the Hawley Lutheran Church Vision Council commissioned the Rise Up Team to embark on the task of assessing our current ministries and facilities, with our know, grow, go mission in mind.

The guiding question leading this team became:

‘Would our community notice if we closed our doors?’

Through prayerful dialogue and assessment, the following goals were developed:

• Refreshing Spaces

• Kids and Youth Ministry Places

• Welcoming Faces

As a result of the Rise Up Team’s assessment, the Church approved the start of a capital campaign and Now Is The Time launched on September 10, 2023.

We are a member of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.
