Memorial & Honorary Gifts
Memorializing and honoring a loved one is a great way to remember them. We invite you to give a gift to Hawley Lutheran Church in memory or honor of someone who has touched your life. Stop by the Church Office or mail your gift with a note sharing who you are remembering. If you would like to give a memorial/honorarium electronically, contact the Church Office and we can send you a link to do so. Additional Giving Options
There are several options for giving. Consult your tax or financial professional for guidance on any of these options.
If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your retirement account and typically avoid paying taxes on the donation.
If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), you can recommend a grant to Hawley Lutheran Church, directly from your account. This allows you to receive an immediate tax deduction when contributing to your DAF, and the sponsoring organization will send the donation to the church on your behalf. Simply log in to your DAF account, select Hawley Lutheran as the recipient, and specify the amount and designation.
Additionally, if you are subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), you can donate to Hawley Lutheran, avoiding the tax penalty while supporting the ministry.
