CARE MINISTRY
We know that life is filled with joy and sorrow. Our Care Ministry exists to walk with you through the seasons of life. Be it hospital stays, illness, shut ins or hospice, we want to care for you.
Pastoral Visits
If you, a friend or a loved one would like a pastoral visit, please contact the Church Office and we’ll assist you in getting on the visit schedule.
Befrienders | Care Team
We are created for community, we need each other and we are better when we support one another. At Hawley Lutheran Church, our Befrienders are a vital aspect of our Care Ministry, assisting our Pastor in meeting the needs of our church, as we point to Jesus - our source of hope and healing in all things. Befrienders are members of our church, who provide community and companionship in times of physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual need. They have also been trained to share the sacrament of communion.
Befrienders meets the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30 PM. A Befriender is available as a listening and supportive friend. We work to extend the arm of ministry to the people of our church going through grief, transition or times of difficulty. Many hours of confidential support is given. We also remember older members of our congregation with birthday and Christmas cards. Please contact the Church Office to learn more, or request a Befriender visit.
Manna Meals Ministry
Jesus calls us to care for our neighbors and those in need. Through Manna Meals Ministry, we will provide single-serving meals that are always available to share with anyone in our community who needs a little extra care or encouragement We’re inviting people of all ages who enjoy cooking to join this important ministry. Once a quarter, we’ll gather to prepare and package meals, creating a simple way to serve and share the love of Christ when care is needed most. Contact Bethany Prososki or Amanda Halvorson for more information. To pick up a meal, contact the Church Office.
Emergencies
We want you to know that God is with you in the midst of emergencies. From prayer, to communion, to silent presence, we will walk with you. In the case of a family, medical or personal emergency, please contact Pastor Darwin Stahl, Pastor Andrea Paulson or the Church Office.
